The founder of Nilfisk-Advance, P.A. Fisker, started as an electrical engineer who really liked to work on electrical motors. After starting his company during the year 1906, he started to make motors to drive machine tools, drills, coffee grinders and fans. Mr. Fisker's vision from the beginning was to own a global company marketing goods globally.

The Nilfisk C1 was a revolutionary breakthrough in the cleaning business. Mr. Fisker invented an amazing, ground breaking vacuum cleaner that could be operated by one person because it only weighed 17.5 kilos! This creation came in a time where many cleaning machines were very big and required 4 or more operators, therefore, the Nilfisk C1 transformed everything and evolved the manner we clean forever. The brain behind these first cleaning equipment remains unparalleled. Cleaning equipment provide an excellent solution to an existing dilemma; things get filthy and must be cleaned regularly, without a lot of effort.

Slowly, the company Nilfisk-Advance grew through the years. In the the early part of the nineteen eighties the business expanded more rapidly when the company became a part of the NKT Group. With new owners on board, they concentrated on driving Nilfisk-Advance forward within the industry, trying to be an active international player in manufacturing professional cleaning equipment. Nilfisk-Advance is currently found in all parts of the world by gradually obtaining a lot of smaller companies so as to expand their product portfolio and presence in new markets.
